I'm a Black woman who discovered that I was in an abusive marriage. Not the typical kind of abuse, the sneaky kind: economic, sexual, spiritual, verbal, and emotional. Nearly every mainstream resource that was supposed to help me and my girls failed us - I didn't act like the "typical" victim. The 15 years it took from me were all a waste unless I could change that narrative for someone else.
I have 9 years of experience creating and delivering curriculum, have studied, leveraged, and helped individuals and teams leverage their CliftonStrengths®. My greatest gift is taking my life experiences and converting them into educational currency. My greatest joy is using that gift to create #permission for my Black sisters as the only agency in the state of Iowa focused on doing this just for us.

Beloved, the Black woman has an experience like no other woman in America. She is called upon by all to show up and protected by none. She has had to develop a certain level of resiliency that makes it hard for her and society to view her as a woman in need.
That's why it was so important to me to create solutions that women like me could access.
These programs all support her in some much-needed and previously unrepresented way - teaching her to identify dangerous relationships, teaching her to end/avoid toxic and destructive cycles, giving her resources to strategically heal from abuse, and teaching the community to support her as well.
Beloved, this is where you can reach out to me. If you've seen a service that you'd like to utilize and want more information than is on the site, tell me here. If you simply want to learn more about how you can partner with me, tell me here. I can't wait to hear from you.
